GRIMES TIMES!! GRIMES TIMES!!

=========================

Summer, 'O8

We have the great news that Henry ’s duo recording with Rashied Ali called “Going to the Ritual,” complete with Henry Grimes booklet illustrations and liner notes by the wonderful writer Marc Medwin, will be released on Porter Records in July! (http://www.porterrecords.com).

And Henry's amazing non-stop three-hour solo bass and violin session for ILK Music (Denmark) that took place in March will result in another great new release (or two!) sometime around November (http://www.ilkmusic.com).

Also, Roswell Rudd's Trombone Shout Band, featuring the trombones of Roswell, Steve Swell, and Deborah Weisz, bass and violin of Henry Grimes, tuba of Bob Stewart, and drums of Barry Altschul, recorded in May, so that will be another addition to Henry's discography!

Sadly, we note that ESP Disk has again re-released Henry Grimes's classic recording "The Call" (ESP #1026, 1965) to much fanfare without making any arrangements whatsoever to pay Henry a penny. Bernard Stollman of ESP owes Henry more than 4O years of royalties for sales of this recording and only paid him $1O to record it in the first place, and yes, we have a copy of Henry's original contract from 1965. Attorneys, please contact musicmargaret [@] earthlink.net regarding this, because we could use some legal help in this regard! Fans, if you feel you must buy this re-release, please contact musicmargaret [@] earthlink.net to arrange to send Henry Grimes some money for your purchase. Thank you.

Meanwhile, life and music go on.
